Sanrio Character Spotlight - Kuromi

I can thank my mother who bought me tons of Hello Kitty things when I was a kid in Japan for my affinity to Hello Kitty. However, I've grown to like other characters as well. In middle school, I was a Pochacco fan. Nowadays, I really like Deery-Lou! About a month ago, I found myself in an Asian gift shop perusing all the Sanrio goods. I came across a new character that I think is super adorable!

Her name is Kuromi and she looks like such a cute bad ass! :P She happens to be My Melody's rival, haha.

Che Che New York... A Brand For Moi?!

I saw a timepiece ad for this brand while browsing through a magazine one day, and it appealed to me because 1) one of my nicknames is Che Che, and 2) my puppy's name is New York! They make handbags, clothing, timepieces, and other little accessories. The style is cute, and somewhat classy at the same time. The prices are not cheap, but are not outrageous. There's a market for their kind of style. Unfortunately, I'm not in love with their current Fall/Winter line (but I like the Spring/Summer line more!), but there are a few handbags and watches I wouldn't mind owning! Talk about personalized accessories! Hehe, j/k :P They also have a line, Che2, that was "was founded to offer younger consumers who are free-spirited and independent and who enjoys accessories to express her own signature flair." I wish I could view these products online!

Che Che Philosophy

There are very special powers at work behind every Che Che

Romance
every bag is like a hug for the senses. Fanciful and practical.

The result? Handbags that are fun to collect, pleasurable to live with, and incredibly unique!

DJ Sara Got Mad Skillz!

Scratching/DJ'ing was one of those things that I've always wanted to do, but never got around to learning... almost like breakdancing... but at my age, the time has past. I can't remember where I stumbled across this video, but I lost my tracks after I was mesmerized by this little girl's skills. She is AMAZING! At her age, cutting beats was probably the last thing I thought about doing. I assume she's being showcased here with her little brother.

Stats:
DJ Sara - 8 years old, DJ'ing for 2 years
DJ Ryusei - 5 years old

Wow, am I embarrassed. I could barely play a record let alone tear tracks up with a mixer. Anyway, I encourage you to check out her YouTube page for more vids!

Situps Are For The Dogs

I love Japanese game/talk shows. They're always so funny and crazy! But sometimes they give me some inspiration to better myself. I've been struggling to find something that will give me the motivation to exercise. This video does just that! Ok... really it doesn't, but I thought it'd be a cute video to post ^_^

Both the monkey and the bulldog are SOOO cute! When I get a bulldog, I want him to help me with my situps, too :P

NY's New Trick

We've been working on a new trick for our puppy NY. We've attempted to record her doing her new trick: "tongue", haha. We tried to teach her to stick her tongue out because B loves it so much when she does it (she gets anything she wants when she does this... ANYTHING). It's not very consistent so we're not even sure she really knows what she's doing, but we've been seeing the tongue more often now so it seems to be working somewhat, hehe. She even does it sometimes when she's in trouble to try to soften the blow :P

Here's the best video I have of her trick. It takes a while to see it since at this point she was already tired of doing it and just wanted her treat :)

Adorable Frenchies!

It's a well-known fact that I love love dogs! Puppies make me cringe and squeal in delight and can turn my frown upside down any day :D The dogs that I want will one day own, in order of preference, are: French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boston Terriers. Needless to say, I love dogs with pushed-in noses. For lapdogs I prefer teacup yorkies :) So seeing this video of puppy frenchies really put a smile on my face today. They are sooo cute and still sooo tiny! OMG, I want to hug them and squeeze them and--! Oh dear, I'm starting to sound like Elmyra from Tiny Toons. I looove aminals [sic]!

[edit]I HAD to post this video, too. It was just too cute!

Matter of fact, just check out all the related videos listed after the vids :D[/edit]

Heroes' Hayden Panettiere Eats Cake And Drinks Milk

It was Hayden Panettiere's birthday the other day, and to many men's delight she is finally 18... *yawn*. That's not why I'm posting this. I'm posting this because look at how cool her cake looks!

I love the colors, I love the shapes, I love the detail! I love fondant cakes as well, but it's difficult to tell if this cake is made of fondant. Pretty... [via]

Also, in other Heroes news, Hayden and Masi Oka participated in the "got milk?" campaigns. Each ad was cleverly themed to display their respective character's abilities.

Cool. [via]

Keepon Dancing, Yellow Robot

Keepon dancing to Spoon's "Don't You Evah".

The way that little yellow robot's moves and grooves is so cute. I'm amazed at its abilities, movements and response to the environment, hehe. I want one!

Kimono Fit For New York

I stopped by Marukai yesterday just to browse around. I saw a kimono for dogs and had to get one for New York!

Look how embarrassed she is. Poor thing. She's only happy if she's without clothes or wearing something flirty and short, haha.

Is There Such A Thing As A Cute Amphibian?

Maybe so. This little critter is called an Axolotl and is part of the salamander family. According to Wikipedia, "larvae of this species fail to undergo metamorphosis, so the adults remain aquatic and gilled". Hmm... so that means they continue to look baby-like? How cute! I think I may have found my exotic aquatic pet...

It's National Ice Cream Sandwich Day!

Have you had your ice cream sandwich today? I just did. Someone brought in Skinny Cows for our potluck. Yummm...

If you still want to partake in the festivities (i.e. eating an ice cream sandwich) but want a more interesting sandwich to eat, try making these Chocolate-Ginger Bathing Beauties! Too cute, Martha!

Paris Puppy Primping

How's that for alliteration, eh?

Anyway, when it comes to Miss P. Hilton, I have mixed views. I think her homemade porno and her ignorance to societal laws are disgusting, however for someone who was, until recently, destined for an insane inheritance she really has tried to make a business for herself. Sure, maybe she just stamps her name on the brand but I think she really might have something to do with it. She has a line of perfumes (the first of which I really like), purses, jewelry (some are really cute, reasonably priced), a future shoe and clothing line, a music album (it's not extremely horrible, but it's not good either... but some are catchy), movie cameos, a TV show (though no more future seasons), and... I'm not even sure what else she is involved in within her own empire. So from a business perspective, you have to give the girl credit. And she's got style.

So it's not surprising that it looks like she may be dabbling in a dog clothing line. One thing I share with her is love for dogs. If I had as much money as she does, I'd probably have the same number of dogs as she does. Her dogs are all so cute! And my puppy used to be the size of her new white puppy... aaaw, I miss that. I never used to be a fan of dressing up dogs. That is until, I got New York, my half-teacup Yorkie half-Pomeranian (or Yoranian, haha). I don't know what it is about dressing up small dogs. Maybe they just look boring without some sort of accessory? Haha! It doesn't help that NY is ok with the idea of dressing her up as long as it's a flirty dress or something. But one thing I like about dog clothes is you don't get that dog smell on you when you handle them and there's minimal shedding.

I'm interested to see what kind of clothing she will be coming out with for dogs. From the looks of it, they look pretty cute but will it just be for teacup puppies? If it is, oh well... they'll fit anyway :)

If Dogs Could Talk

What would they say? Perhaps "I want my mama" or "I want it"?

I wish I could teach my puppy New York to talk! The main sounds I get from her sound like a mini-Chewie.

Eat Treacle Tarts And Drink Butterbeer Like Harry Potter

Amazon's al Dente blog posted a few links to many Harry Potter themed recipes. Too cute and cool for your everyday Harry Potter fan! I've always imagined butterbeer to taste like butterscotch for some reason. Here's my chance to try it for myself!
Butterbeer -

3/4 cup of rootbeer 2 tablespoons of butter.

Take a mug and fill it 3/4 full with rootbeer. Scoop 2 tablespoons of butter into the mug and microwave on high for about 1 minute.

or for something more alcoholic,
Makes 2 quarts.

1 cup butterscotch schnapps
7 cups cream soda (almost one 2 liter bottle)

Carefully mix just before serving, adding the schnapps to the soda then stirring gently to mix well, or the fizz will dissipate too soon.

Sanrio Boutique For The Adult Female

Hello Kitty is omnipresent. You can find products sold almost everywhere, and almost every product has a Hello Kitty version. I'm sure you've seen the crystal or diamond embellished jewelry ridiculously priced from places like Neiman Marcus. It turns out Sanrio has an exclusive brand called Momoberry that targets a more well-off Hello Kitty fan.

Here's the description from the Sanrio site:
Momoberry is Sanrio’s boutique brand - featuring upscale lifestyle products for the adult female consumer, bringing her sophisticated fun and fashion. Momoberry originated in 2006 based on the idea that grown-up Sanrio fans wanted a unique range of premiere products. Products include exclusive, limited edition items, such as jewelry, tees, cashmere and handbags.

Currently you can find Momoberry at the Beverly Center Mall in Los Angeles, CA or in Tokyo, Japan at two Sanrio flagship locations.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd want to spend an large amount of money on a Sanrio-branded item. I just don't have that kind of dispensable cash lying around. But it's not going to stop me from stopping by the Beverly Center to check it out one of these days.

Kitty Kamera

A couple of things about me: I like cameras, and I really like Lomos. And I'm not too fond of cats. I'm willing to overlook the latter when it comes to this cute Holga K202 Cat Camera! Apparently, when you press the shutter a cat sound plays and the LEDs begin to flash. I could only imagine what kind of cute reactions can be caught on film when the subject (cat) hears a "meow" come from the plastic apparatus before them and is then mesmerized by a bunch of blinking lights. Another plus: it's a Holga. I've always wanted a Holga! I hope they come out with a dog version! ^_^ Say cheese! *meow* *click*!

Welcome to "Kawaii, neh?!"!

Hi! Welcome to my new blog that I created for all things kawaii! ^__^ It will be a slow start in terms of getting this up and running (expect a new layout some time later), so I appreciate your patience. In the meantime, please check out some of the random videos!
